Cas Holmes trained in fine art at UCA and later received research Fellowships form the Winston Churchill Trust and thr Japan Foundation to study in Japan. Her interest lies in the issues relating to the environment and to the land. Stitch, cloth and memory combines with paint, mark and image, linking the ‘reclaimed’ and the ‘domestic’ to our urban and natural spaces. Her pieces are held in collections around the world, including the Museum of Art and Design in New York, Arts Council England, and The Embroiderer’s Guild UK.
She works collaborative projects and installations with artists, performers and writers and is also an author, including the very succeseful The Found Object in Textile Art (published by Batsford/Anova 2010 reprinted 3 times) and Connected Cloth (2013).
