Colin Hinds

Colin has been a renowned session player since the age of seventeen. As well as being guitarist with Liverpool-based pop legends China Crisis, he has toured playing guitar for a host of household names including singers Paul Carrack, Ruby Turner and Gary Barlow and has worked at LIPA (Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts) as a masterclass tutor. He now divides his time between recording, touring and holding guitar masterclass sessions. Colin has produced a series of demonstration videos sponsored by Farida Guitars (which he endorses). In addition to his astonishing fluency on the fingerboard, Colin is also a first-rate vocalist and an accomplished solo performer in his own right. After moving to Dover he played and wrote the music for French writer Nicolette Picheral and Director Stéphane Vérite’s City of Dunkirk and DAD project Between Beacon and Shaft. In his last years he started touring with Toyah Willcox on her Up Close & Personal Acoustic Tour.

After his death in February 2020 fellow musician Andy Doble wrote:
on top of his virtuoso guitar playing and soulful voice that would make angels weep , the clever mofo was a funky ass bass player too
