Maria Demichele

Maria is an Italian eclectic artist. She graduated at the University of Florence as a Visual Designer and she is currently an Ma Fine Arts student at UCA Canterbury.
As an individual artist, she is interested in graphics, illustration, animation and book art. Her passion for travelling and living abroad led to a strong sense of belonging to cultural traditions. For this reason she has been working in folk activities with young people, as heirs of our culture. In Italy from 2000 she participated at several editions of Carnaval in Manfredonia and Festa dell’Uva in Florence (Impruneta), playing an active part in the traditional dancing parade and as a member of the working team involved in paper laboratories and designing costumes. In addition, her experience in set and costume design for local acting shows allowed her to enjoy experimenting with combinations of different materials, mainly recycling waste and reused fabrics.
She often worked in charity associations as a volunteer in entertainment activities for children.
