Nozomi Watanabe

Nozomi Watanabe is a Japanese contemporary artist. She has exhibited her work mainly in Tokyo since 2004. After completing an MFA at Tama Art University in Tokyo in 2009, she participated in the establishment of YADOKARI TOKYO which is the joint project with artists and real estate, and has organised some exhibitions in Tokyo. Between 2009 and 2015 she was engaged in art education at Tama Art University, secondary schools and an NPO corporation as a guest lecturer and teacher.

Her conceptual practice includes installation, drawing, video, sound, performance, project and collaborative work. Within her work, she explores the spatial movement in human perception through interactive and exploratory projects.

Since 2015 she has been studying as an MA Fine Art student at UCA Canterbury and was recently awarded the Art and Culture grants by Nomura Foundation (Japan) that will allow her to develop her work during her course.
