Dover Harbour through the ages

Here are some images of drawings of Dover Harbour through the ages done by pupils at Dover Grammar School for Girls as part of our North Downs Way project. The drawings depict the Harbour in 1450, 1535, 1595, 1595. 1750, 1900 ands 1990.

Exhibition of pupils work opens

An exhibition of pupils work in response to a walk along a section of the North Downs Way can now be seen in the Centurion House Box Gallery. Pupils from St. Mary's, the "Dazzling Dolphins" have created five eye-catching figures, each one exploring a different theme of the North Downs Way using collage, printing, illustration, graffiti and poetry to great effect.

Alma Tischler Wood wins North Downs Way End-of-Trail Marker commission

Dover Arts Development (DAD) today announced that a British artist - Alma Tischler Wood has been commisioned for the North Downs Way End-of-Trail Marker. The 12-person jury were particularly impressed by Tischler Wood’s sense of purposeful playfulness.

She told us "You have to strike a balance between lively innovation and maintaining the traditions of the locality".

DAD Overview Spring 2010

DAD has been really busy since the New Year, working on several projects concurrently. Résider/Reside, with artists Pierre-Yves Brest and Sharon Haward, finished in December and we’re still working on the reporting. As with all interreg projects, the reporting is time consuming and we have to show spending to be in line with the initial forecast, phase by phase and line by line.
