Autumn newsletter

We were thinking we’d have a quiet summer but we’ve hardly had a break and it’s already October. We start editing Watermark, DAD's documentary film production about Buckland Paper Mill, this month and we've also just started a new project, Boxme.in, researching the use of social media as an audience building tool. This seems very apt at the moment, especially since so many arts organisations have enthusiastically embraced the use of Facebook.

Spring Newsletter

DAD has been really busy since the New Year, working on several projects concurrently. Résider/Reside, with artists Pierre-Yves Brest and Sharon Haward, finished in December and we’re still working on the reporting. As with all interreg projects, the reporting is time consuming and we have to show spending to be in line with the initial forecast, phase by phase and line by line.

Resider/Reside on the BBC Big Screen

Resider/Reside Finissage

Resider/Reside finished with a performance peice by Lucy Platel, the project 'mediator'. The public's comments on the project, in response to conversations with Lucy, were written onto labels, which were then tied to balloons and set free as possible starting points for more conversations.

Resider/Reside publication

The Resider/Reside publication, designed by Edda Jones with photographs by Pierre-Yves Brest is a beautiful celebration of the project, containing images of the work by both Pierre-Yves Brest and Sharon Haward, as well as images of the installations in Saint-Omer and in Dover, images of Sharon's dusk photo tour and an image of Pierre-Yves' work on the BBC Big Screen.

Resider/Reside finissage on 11 December

Our résider/reside project, with all its various events in Saint-Omer and Dover is coming to a close with our final event / finissage on Friday, 11th December between 3-5pm in Dover.

It will be the last chance to see Sharon Haward’s "Chasing Shadows" at the Centurion House Box Gallery on Bench Street. You will also be able to see screenings in the Market Square of the works that Pierre-Yves Brest and Sharon Haward developed especially for the BBC Big Screen.
