The DAD urban room
The network of Urban Rooms across the country shares practice and offers support, to promote the value of urban rooms to others: Every town and city should have a physical space where people can go to understand, debate and get involved in the past, present and future of where they live, work and play. The purpose of these Urban Rooms is to foster meaningful connections between people and place, using creative methods of engagement to encourage active participation in the future of our buildings, streets and neighbourhoods.
Since 2006 the long table at Victoria Park has brought artists, architects, museum people and other creative practitioners together with residents, those in local government and business around a variety of topics all connected in some way to Dover. Now formalized as part of the urban room network, this Dover Urban room will continue in its placemaking objective by gathering people together .
