Emily Peasgood awarded the West Wing Battery commission

Opportunity

The Land Trust has awarded  Emily Peasgood  the commission for the new art work at the West Wing Battery at Fort Burgoyne.

36 artists submitted expressions of interest, five of whom were invited to submit a proposal. After a thorough and lengthy jury procedure, Emily Peasgood received the Jury’s recommendation.

Emily will create a sound installation and musical composition that immerses visitors in the history of the West Wing Battery, looks towards its future as a community space and invites people to rest, contemplate and play. She will be working with Al Harle, Darius Wilson and Theresa Smith of Mooch to realise her project.

Emily and her team visited the site just before Christmas, full installation is planned for the opening of the Battery in the summer of 2020.
